13.3 Math::Cephes: Arithmetic and Calculus-Based Computation
The Math::Cephes module provides a Perl interface to the well-known Cephes mathematical library of over 150 functions. The Math::Cephes module’s main strengths lie in its handling of trigonometric, hyperbolic and probabilistic functions; calculus-based special functions such as gamma, beta and elliptic and functions and the corresponding integrals; and, complex numbers and fractional arithmetic. Thus, the module is best discussed by separately illustrating its various capabilities. The functions are divided into groups. We discuss a few functions from a few selected groups, and hence, the interested reader must install the package, and read its documentation, to appreciate its full power. No functions are exported by default, but must be exported either individually or as named groups.
